Once again we have 2 outdoor and 2 indoor teams competing this year. The 1st XI are off to the dizzy heights of National League Division 2 (outdoor) and National League Division 3 (indoor) after a spectacularly successful season last year [Read all about it in the 2005-06 end of season report in the News Section]. The 2nd XI or Development Squad will be battling it out again in East District Division 3 (outdoor) but have high hopes of reaching the top of the table this year and potential promotion to Division 2 next season. For those players not heading off to the National Indoor League, there will be a 2nd indoor team competing in East District Division 1 which is also entered into the East District Catherine Lambert Indoor Cup again. If you wish to play indoors this year, just let one of the captains and/or coaches know. We need to ensure we have enough players to produce a full squad each week for both indoor and outdoor teams and any new members are more than welcome. Please encourage any friends of any age and ability with an interest in hockey to come along to training. Remember though you must be at least 14 years old to play in any of the indoor or outdoor national/east district senior competitions. Please check with the team coach/captain asap if you are not sure whether you can play or not. The Team Captains and Coaches are responsible for selecting the teams each week and will advise players who wish to complete at either a national and/or local level which team you are playing for. A copy of the fixtures will be issued to you prior to your first match and will also be posted on the website and updated weekly. Some fixtures may be subject to change throughout the year so please pay attention to the match arrangements info (dates/times/venues) that is passed on to you by your Team Captain and Coach before each match. Please help the Team Captains/Coaches by letting them know as early as possible about any week(s) that you are not available to play. Team Colours for 2006/07 are as follows: Shirts (Red), Skirts (Navy) and Socks (Red) for non-clash of colours Shirts (Navy), Skirts (Navy) and Socks (Navy) when a change of strip is required. All shirts worn on the pitch must be numbered to play in National League and East District games. Numbered shirts are provided by the Club for players who are selected to play in the two teams (indoor and outdoor). All players should carry a pair of Red Socks and a pair of Navy Socks to each game in case a last minute change of colours is required. |
