The last Junior session before Easter will be on Wednesday 1st April. There will be no Wednesday night training sessions on the 8th or 15th April. The first Wednesday back will be a JSB Sports League meet (see below). If your club tracksuit is getting too small, bring it along on a Wednesday evening and we will swap it for a bigger size!
Junior Section: Summer Training
The first training session of the new term will be on Wednesday 29th April at Pinkie Playing Fields (under 11s at 6.30, over 11s at 7.30). JSB Sports League (Juniors)
As a club we will be entering teams for this years JSB league. The events are competitive, but fun and provide very good level of competition for young athletes. We are asking for names and are looking for commitment from the young athletes interested in being part of the team. The competition is for teams of 6-8 competitors (10 maximum) in each of three age groups: - under 11’s (minimum age 9), under 13’s and under 15’s, Boys and Girls.
The proposed dates for this year’s events are: Match 1 Wed 22/04/00 Pitreavie. Bus leaves Musselburgh Grammar School at 5.20 pm Match 2 Thur 14/05/09 Pitreavie. Membership renewal
The annual membership fee was due on the 1st April. The junior renewal forms will be handed out after Easter. Junior Section: Annual Membership Fee is £15. Membership for the second family member costs £10 and for the third £5. This can be paid to Tony on a Wednesday. As before the club will pay for junior members’ individual membership of Scottish Athletics, which is necessary to compete in competitions. Senior Section: Annual Membership is £25. This can be paid to Roger or Jan on a Tuesday. Remember that with your membership card, you can get 10% discount at Run & Become, Snowlines, Joe Forte (in Haddington) and a discount at the FASIC sports injury clinic. All members (new and old) are being asked to update their Membership Information Sheet. This is in order to keep all our members’ details up to date.
Tartan Pentathlon Family Day: Monday 6th April
As part of the homecoming celebrations East Lothian Council is running a Tartan Pentathlon Family Day. This will be a fun event for all the family Venue: Meadowmill Sports Centre Playing Fields Time: 2pm – 4.30pm approx
Tesco Vouchers

Senior Section
On the first Tuesday of each month, the senior section holds a joint training session, followed by a get together at the Levenhall Arms, with sandwiches provided.
If you would like company while getting fit, then come and join us Tuesday evenings. The runs (for absolutely all standards of runners) start from Musselburgh Sports Centre at 7 p.m. Come and enjoy yourself.
Club Vests
The club has a selection of men’s, ladies’ and junior vests in various sizes for sale. We also have tracksuit jackets available. If you are interested in buying one please contact Tony. Alternatively, seniors can try them out at the Levenhall Arms in the first Tuesday of the month. Current prices are £13 for a vest and £20 for a jacket.
Officials Course
East Lothian Athletics Development Group is putting on a Level 1 Officials Course, which will introduce the basics of track and field officiating. Edinburgh Marathon: Sunday 31st May 2008
This year’s Edinburgh Marathon will be finishing in Musselburgh at the race track. As a club, we will be providing stewards, for which the club will be paid. East Lothian Summer Series
The very popular East Lothian Summer Series will be held again this year. These are run with the Dunbar and Haddington Athletic Clubs. All of the events are run as handicap races. The races are over 5 to 7.5 km and are intended to be friendly with the emphasis on good fun for all.

Festival Races - Saturday 25th July
Musselburgh and District Athletic Club will be hosting the ‘Musselburgh Festival Races’ on Saturday afternoon, 25th July. The start and finish of the race will be at Loretto School’s playing fields on New Street. The 10k Race starts at 10.30 am and the Fun Run at 12 noon. We need lots of help on the day to make sure the Races are a success that Musselburgh and District Athletic Club can be proud of. We are looking for help with registration, marshalling the course, staffing water tables, handing out Goody Bags, etc. In addition this year we will be providing teas and cakes after the race. To make this a success we need home baking and help organising the teas on the day. We hope you will be able to spare a couple of hours – the Club depends on you!!
