Sunday 22nd November 2009. Dunfermline (Queen Anne School) ‘Mud mud glorious mud, nothing quite like it for cooling the blood’. The second of this season’s Scottish East District Cross Country League race saw us all doing our best impression of a hippopotamus. Five senior men from MDAC; Dermot, Alex, Craig, Gordon and Stewart ran under the Team East Lothian banner. Grant Noble from Dunbar made up the sixth man in the team. Recent heavy rain had left the complete course very wet and very muddy. Even at the start line, spectators were slithering around, trying to stay on their feet. The course was 8.6k long. Not much in the way of hills, but the difficulty was all under foot (did I say it was muddy?) Great run from Dermot. Alex had run a 5k the day before, so attempted an excuse of over running. Even in these conditions Craig’s time was 5 minutes quicker than last year. Great improvement. Good to see Stewart back after his paternity leave. Kerry Morris ran in the U15 girl’s race. Results: Grant 35.52 Dermot 37.44 Alex 39.27 Craig 40.50 Gordon 41.51 Stewart 50.17
